I’ve been working on making a braided rag-rug from old socks for some time now. Actually, I should rephrase that. I’ve been postponing making a braided rag-rug from old socks for some time now. I cut the strips, I started the braid, and then I just kind of…stopped. To be honest, I’m not sure I’ll ever take it back up. I found the process boring, and a little frustrating, since my braid was all lumpy.
I’ve been thinking of changing course and making a latch hook rug from the strips, instead. I’ve done latch hook projects before, and always found them very relaxing. I think I would be much more likely to stick with a latch hook rug project than a braided rug project. However, I’m not sure a rug made from strips of old socks, rather than yarn, will turn out well.
Has anyone ever tried making a latch hook rag rug? If so, how did the project turn out? Am I just wasting my time with this one? Please let me know what you think in the comments.

I can't say that I have anything worthwhile to contribute to this post, but I had to laugh at the title. Very clever. =)
