Frugal Guilt

After a long and incredibly stressful week, I've decided I want takeout. There, I said it. What's more, I already acted on it; Donnie is going to get the food as I type.

Now if only I didn't feel so guilty about it.

I can afford this takeout. There's some extra money in our budget this month. Not to mention, I'm an adult, and I have the right to splurge as I see fit. Nevertheless, every time I spend more than I absolutely must, I feel as though I've put Donnie's and my entire financial future in jeopardy.

Call me crazy, because I probably am. But I read enough frugal blogs to know I'm not the only one who beats herself up for needless spending.

What about you? Do you feel guilty when you make un-frugal choices? Or have you come to terms with your imperfection?

Yeah, I get that too. After going one direction and being crazy with spending (and getting into debt), I've gone the other way and cut out all spending. I feel a little guilty spending still, but I've become more comfortable with it :)

I think the guilt is very common, and of course I feel it. However, if you don't splurge on something now and again (as long as you aren't talking lobster and caviar) you will lose you focus in the overwhelming feeling of being deprived.

Thanks for stopping by Thriftiness Becomes Us!

I do feel guilty about spending money now. We went out to eat a couple of weeks ago and I still feel bad about it, even though we had the money for it! I'm sure as time goes on that we will reach a balance.

Thanks for stopping by! The Mexican Pie is really good and very cost effective! I just had to comment on this post because I feel that way so often! We actually picked up something for dinner last night after church. It was my hubby's idea. I could have just eaten at home but I didn't want to 'nag' him about us needing to go home and eat sandwiches! We we're in the same position this week though and had a little extra $$. Sometimes it's important to just let go though!

Agree with the comments. I have found that a little splurge from time to time, as long as it is not a HUGE splurge that we can't afford, is pretty healthy. They make life a little sweeter. Buying a few songs on iTunes every once in a while does it for me!

Thanks for coming by my blog as well and commenting!
