Remember, your dad doesn't want you to break the bank on a present for him! So rather than spending a fortune, why not try one of the inexpensive gift ideas listed below?
- Homemade cookies, candies, or other sweet treats.
- A goodie bag filled with some of your best CVS deals.
- A family photo in a frame decorated by the kids or grandkids.
- A paperback book by his favorite author.
- One of the many gifts under $20 available from NFL Shop.
- A pound of his favorite coffee and a nice mug.
- A family outing to the zoo, an inexpensive sporting event, or the park.
How will you celebrate Father's Day on a dime?

I actually posted an article yesterday about our Frugal Father's Day purchase - http://www.passivefamilyincome.com/2008/06/09/frugal-fathers-day-gifts/
For years now, I've been making my dad a cd for Father's Day. It's to the point where he expects it, and a few months before, starts talking about how much he's enjoyed the other cds I've made for him (which get turned into playlists on his ipod). I think he does this to remind me that he wants another one.
All year, I keep a playlist titled "ideas for Dad" where I place songs I think he would like. Makes it easier when June rolls around.
I plan on making my husbands favorite cake, carrot cake! Which I don't eat. I am also going to try to make a "grilling" basket for him. Hope to come up with something good.
